I recently reacquainted myself with the delightful ramblings of @dottieangel I discovered Tif and her granny chic crafty creations many moons ago and was instantly drawn to her little creative if not a bit quirky world and way of life. This book is delightful to read and full of stitchy, vintage inspiration.

As all creatives sometimes eventually do, Dottie Angel has evolved and Tif now shares her creativity under @autumn.coe.song While her style and aesthetic may have shifted with the sands of time, her creative love and joy still shines through with all that she shares.

Paper templates are the foundation for your EPP, a

Paper templates are the foundation for your EPP, after all it’s called English Paper Piecing for a reason!

Paper templates come in a wonderful range of shapes that you can piece together and create an array of tessellated patterns.

They allow for stability and accuracy while stitching and can be used time and time again if looked after.

While you can now get other template types for your EPP, I will always prefer paper as it’s easy to use, sustainable and it’s what makes this traditional patchwork method unique, connecting me to past and present quilters.

Who doesn’t love a delicious warm scone smothere

Who doesn’t love a delicious warm scone smothered with jam and slathered in fresh cream?! It’s got to be one of my favorite accompaniments to a cup of tea.

My friend gifted me this sweet Scone cook book and the colour of its cover and pages inspired this pretty selection of fabrics.

I haven’t yet mastered the art of scone making, but I think I will enjoying practicing as much as I would enjoy stitching a project with these fabrics…maybe a lovely table cloth for an afternoon tea of Scones with Jam and Cream!

This beautiful selection of nine fabrics has a lovely Autumn vibe to it, with rich mustard yellow, soft pink, deep rose pink and a touch of lilac.

As Autumn gently rolls in the flowers and garden a

As Autumn gently rolls in the flowers and garden are starting to wind down. My dahlias are still blooming their heads off, but the stems are starting to weaken, they are looking very messy and powdery mildew is starting to makes it presence known.

I have already pulled out all of my Zinnias, yet again they provided so much colour and joy to the garden and to our home.

I always miss my flowers during the colder months but planning for this years Spring and Summer Garden will cheer me up, as will looking back on all my floral photos 🌷

After days pushing through despite feeling yuk and

After days pushing through despite feeling yuk and being incredibly tired, I am nurturing myself by spending the morning in bed 😌

Upon laying out the rows I had completed for my triangle cushion I realized I had stitched one incorrectly which has led to a big shuffle around of my triangles and rows!

A couple of things to share with you today….

I fear I may have stitched too much last week and have now lost my stitching mojo! Ooops 😱

Or it’s just that this chest cold is tightening it’s grip around my lungs 😷

Or I’m just tired because well life really, being an adult, mum and business owner is exhausting even when it’s fun 😌

Just three days until my other business @bluemtnsmakers closes for good and I’m looking forward to this chapter closing and being able to work full time on The Maker’s Stash. 🌷
