Welcome to the SATG Quit Sew-Along, it is such a pleasure to have you here.
When I started to share the progress of my quilt I had so many people interested in wanting a pattern so that they could make one too.
While this quilt is not large in size, there are over 1000 pieces in it, and stitching all of that together can seem like a daunting task.
While there is a lot of piecing, and then if you choose to hand quilt like I did, a lot of quilting, this is a really fun quilt to make.
My favourite part was selecting which fabrics would form my garden bed flower blocks. I loved choosing different fabrics from my stash, just like I love choosing plants and flowers for my garden.
The SATG Quilt Sew-Along is designed to keep you on track with creating each block, stitching the rows together and getting your quilt finished.
The sew-along has been structured to run over 40 weeks, starting February 10th and finishing November 16th, 2025.
I have deliberately made the sew-along span across most of the year so as to not overwhelm you.
Each week has an achievable task that will require a few hours of stitching each week. Of course you can sew ahead of the schedule, and if you don’t finish each task each week that is perfectly ok.
The important thing is to stitch at your own pace and complete what you can in the time you have available.

Sew-alongs are all about community, making connections and friends in the quiltiverse. They are a great way to meet fellow stitchers and to inspire and be inspired.
Sew-alongs also help you to keep on track with a project, and it’s great to be able to ask the group for help and advise.
For the SATG Quilt Sew-Along we are going to connect on social media through Instagram and Facebook as well as The Maker’s Stash Facebook Group.
When sharing your quilt be sure to use hashtags #skiparoundthegardenquilt and #satgquiltsewalong.
