In this pattern collection, you will find graphs and instructions on how to piece together a Hexie Heart using English Paper Piecing. There are a total of eleven heart patterns using a variety of hexagon sizes, including Quarter Inch, Three Eighth Inch, Half Inch, Five Eighth Inch, Three Quarter Inch, Seven Eighth Inch and One Inch.
The pattern booklet includes basic information about English Paper Piecing, as well as step by step photo guide to basting hexagons and ideas for applique and embellishment of your Hexie Heart. There is also a step by step photo guide on how to frame your Hexie Hearts in a timber embroidery hoop.
These hearts are great for using up fabric scraps. You could also be really creative and use up-cycled fabrics like old embroidered tablecloths, handkerchiefs, vintage tea towels, old shirts and clothes.
All of the hearts have been designed to be framed within specific sizes of timber embroidery hoops. However, you may choose to use your heart to embellish a bag or item of clothing. You could use it on the front of a cushion or incorporate it as a panel in a quilt. The possibilities are endless on how you choose to use your Hexie Heart.
